1948 The Good Earth Company is founded, a pioneer in importing and selling tractors in India.
1959-60 Eicher Tractor Corporation of India Private Limited rolls out India’s first indigenously manufactured tractor from its Faridabad plant.
1982 Eicher Motors Limited forms a joint venture with Japan’s Mitsubishi Motors Corporation to manufacture India’s most modern and advanced light commercial vehicles.
1991-93 During a spate of acquisitions and new business ventures, Eicher acquires Ramon and Demm, manufacturers of transmission and differential gears. It also acquires Enfield India Limited, manufacturers of the iconic Bullet motorcycle, and rebrands it into Royal Enfield.
2005 Disinvested the businesses of tractors to TAFE Motors & Tractors Ltd. (TMTL)
2008 The Volvo Group and Eicher Motors come together in a 50-50 joint venture to establish VE Commercial Vehicles Limited. The partnership brings together global leadership in technology, quality safety and environmental care, along with deep knowledge and understanding of the Indian commercial vehicle market.
2010 Engine Business set up for Non-Automotive application.
2013 Production starts at India’s most advanced engine manufacturing plant at Pithampur, with supplies of Euro – 6 base engines being sent to the Volvo Group in Europe.
2014 Introduce new emission engine for Genset application.
2015 Launch new genset engines for 100/125kVA power output.
2017 Launch new genset engines for 160kVA power output. Developed and started exporting TIER 4 engines to Volvo Penta.
2018 Started development CEV IV/V engines for domestic market.
