VE Commercial Vehicles Limited has the technologically most advanced engine manufacturing plant in India. The plant has been set up at Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, India, and is spread over 82 acres of land with an initial capacity of 100,000 units per annum. The engine facility is a global hub for meeting the automotive and non-automotive engine requirements of Indian and global customers. The organisation also has manufacturing capabilities in Thane, Dewas and SEZ Pithampur, dedicated to manufacturing of transmission and differential gear boxes and gearbox assemblies.

ETB completed 33 years of operations in India in the month of June 2019. As a part of the product development process, the organisation has a fully-equipped engine development centre with fatigue lab, complete virtual integration capability, different simulations and interior trim design capabilities. It is a fully integrated facility encompassing manufacturing operations, product development, purchase, supply chain, and other support functions.

Our manufacturing setup follows Volvo Group’s global manufacturing system and processes and has a high degree of Automation and Poke-Yoke for ensuring consistent quality engines. Our diesel engines are meeting India’s latest emission norms and are future ready for the upcoming BS-V/ BS-VI/ CEV 4 /CEV 5 emission norms. There is a high level of relevant automation within process verification on all the critical workstations. Additionally, this plant has the most flexible final engine assembly line, using automatic guided vehicles and smart cell technology.
